How BIOGNL is produced
The production of BIOGNL (or biomethane) starts with the collection of organic biomass, such as agricultural waste, organic waste or dedicated crops. These materials undergo an anaerobic digestion process, in which bacteria decompose the organic matter and produce biogas.
The biogas thus obtained is subsequently purified to remove impurities such as carbon dioxide, sulphur and moisture. The end result is the biomethanewhich can be liquefied through a cooling process.
The BIOGNL It shares many characteristics with liquefied natural gas (LNG).
It is a low-carbon fuel with reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional fossil fuels. In addition, BIOGNL is highly efficient from an energy point of view and can be used directly without requiring significant modifications to existing gas distribution systems.
