Pecica, Romania 13 November 2024 - Vulcan, a leader in clean energy, is proud to announce the opening of the first service station in Romania capable of delivering both Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and BioLNG (but also CNG and BIOCNG).
Located in Pecica, in the district of Arad, the new station represents a fundamental step towards a more sustainable energy future and an important hub for the transport sector in Romania.
A noteworthy opening ceremony, in the presence of representatives of the Government of Romania, the Parliament of Romania, the Arad County Council, the Municipality of Pecica, but also the FPPG.
Among them the Italian Ambassador to Romania H.E. Alfredo Maria Durante Mangoni, which welcomed the investment of an Italian group such as Vulcan, highlighting the common position of Italy and Romania in supporting biofuels and how the creation of a BIO supply chain in Romania is crucial to ensure sustainable and pragmatic decarbonisation.
Costantino AmadeiManaging Director of Vulcangas Romania, said:
With this investment, the Vulcan Group firmly believes in Romania's potential. The country is a major logistical hub in Europe and, therefore, a network of LNG and Bio-LNG stations could not be missing on its territory. Romania will also be a Biomethane hub for south-eastern Europe, thanks to the large amount of agricultural feedstock from which gaseous and liquid Biomethane can be produced.
Thanks to Iveco, a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles fuelled by LNG and Bio-LNG, for the cooperation. Their vehicle lines, based on proven and cost-effective technologies, offer effective solutions for the decarbonisation of heavy transport. In particular, the use of Bio-LNG significantly reduces CO₂ emissions, contributing to more sustainable transport.
The opening of these petrol stations aligns with the entry into force of the ETS2 regulation, scheduled for 2025, with monitoring and reporting of emissions.
A greener future for transport
With the opening of the Pecica station, Vulcan confirms its commitment to promoting innovative and sustainable energy solutions, in line with Romania's environmental goals.
LNG and BIOGNL are an ideal choice for long-distance transport, helping to reduce air pollution and mitigate the effects of climate change.
In addition, the supply infrastructure for these clean fuels is continuously and strongly expanding, also thanks to our system VCARDproviding hauliers with an efficient experience.
