San Nazzaro Sesia (NO), 23 May 2025 -
A big step towards a more sustainable future for the transport sector was taken today in San Nazzaro Sesia (NO) with the inauguration of the new biomethane plant of Koster, a leading company in environmental management and energy production from renewable sources.
The event was attended by key figures in the industry: Angelo Baronchelli, President of AB, Andrea Bosi, Key Account Manager of Vulcan, Roberto Savoini, Sole Director of Borgo Agnello S.p.A., and Siro Fabbri, Alternative Traction Manager IVECO Mercato Italia.
Vulcan plays a key role in this virtuous synergy, thanks to the VCARD, the fuel card designed to improve the management and supply of LNG, CNG but especially of BIOGNL also at the Koster shop.
Through the network LNG corridor of the VCARD, Vulcan aims to facilitate the adoption of sustainable fuels such as BIOGNL by ensuring high fleet management systems and access to a growing corridor.
At Vulcan, we see BIOGNL as a key pillar in the ecological transition of the heavy transport sector, said Andrea Bosi, Key Account Manager at Vulcan. It offers a proven and significant reduction in emissions with high performance and range.
The strategic partnership with IVECO enhances this vision, combining advanced vehicle technology and sustainable fuel supply. We strongly believe that BIOGNL is a crucial bridge to a zero-emission future in the logistics and heavy transport sector.
For the occasion, IVECO delivered six new CNG-powered S-Way vehicles to LOGTER, the Koster Group company specialising in environmental logistics: four LNG and two CNG. A strategic choice towards a low environmental impact fleet, exploiting the advantages of biomethane produced directly by the Koster plant.
The Koster plant represents a virtuous example of circular economy: the FORSU (organic fraction of municipal solid waste) and sludge are transformed into biomethane thanks to AB's BIOCH4NGE® technology. This innovative process not only drastically reduces emissions, but also valorises organic waste, turning it into a valuable resource for sustainable mobility.
This event testifies to the strength of collaboration between different entities in the sector to achieve common goals of decarbonisation e sustainability in logistics transport.
The synergy between different skills and technologies proves to be a crucial element in accelerating the transition to a low-emission future.
