Energy from the cold
What is LNG?
The LNG is a natural gas liquefied and maintained at a temperature of -160°C.
Through the liquefaction process, natural gas is purified of both the wet part and most other gases, a process that thus makes it pure.
Liquefied natural gas has a calorific value of around 13,000 Kcal/kg. A value that makes it one of the products with the highest energy power.
In its liquid state, LNG is lighter than water and in a gaseous state lighter than air. These characteristics make it a safe, clean and highly energetic product. In addition, its liquid form allows large quantities to be stored in relatively small spaces.
Liquefied natural gas is a product with a very low environmental impact, containing no sulphur or particulates. During combustion, LNG emits very low quantities of carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide.
LNG is odourless, colourless, non-toxic and non-corrosive.
How is LNG transported?
The Vulcan Corridor is expanding its network throughout Italy, doubling its presence to facilitate the distribution of liquefied natural gas from North to South. Vulcan guarantees the transport of LNG through value chain management, from supply to final distribution.
Our sales outlets are modern, efficient and suitable for servicing heavy transport vehicles.
In addition, the project envisages an expansion in Europewith active liquefied natural gas distribution networks in Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Thanks to their own LNG filling stations, Vulcan supports the strategic choices of transport companies towards a eco-sustainable logistics.
In addition to the refuelling corridor, Vulcan also offers the possibility of setting up private LNG refuelling systems directly at the logistics sites of customers with large fleets.
